March
Calling the name of the month, “March”, sounds very strong to me. It’s almost like an exhortation to move forward. Other months of the year sound softer. We’ve had such a wonderful February at the Center that I’m still carrying the residuals of love and joy: the best business “Gathering” with such a large crowd, the plans for increasing our financial income that are already in motion, saying good-bye to the former Core Council and greeting the new, then mixing business with pleasure by having our students from the Power of Your Word class give us a presentation of what they are learning, doing the invocation and benediction for the business meeting, and then winding it all down with some delicious soups and salads prepared by the kitchen angels. A grand time was had by all. We saw some growth in attendance in February with new and returning people. As some woman said at the beginning of the Obama campaign: “ALL FIRED UP AND READY TO GO!!”
I’m sitting here looking at our sign up sheets for classes starting in March…..Already five new folks have signed up for the New Members class and nine have signed up for the second crop of folks wanting an evening Foundations Class and there are still three Sundays left for people to sign up for the class starting March 9.
That fabulous Press-Enterprise ad was put together by Liz Crisostomo and two people who came in on Sunday and signed the Guestbook said they came in response to the ad. After the service one of them signed up for all the classes including the new member class.
You can tell I’m excited about everything that Spirit is unfolding. I am very appreciative of the way everyone holds the consciousness of the Center in love. It is that consciousness that is drawing the crowd.
A little birdy told me that we will have a wonderful minister and her husband moving into membership with us. They have already started coming to our Center. They tell me that they feel like they have “come home.” A formal announcement is forthcoming.
Ernest Holmes tells us: “ Every person is surrounded by a thought atmosphere. This mental atmosphere is the direct result of his conscious and unconscious thought, which, in turn, becomes the direct reason for and cause of, that which comes into his life. Through this power we are either attracting or repelling.” P.294
Therein lies the power of what we are accomplishing together in the growth of this Center. With that law of attraction in your life and in the life of this Center we are blessed and accomplish great things. I leave you with an Irish saying: "May the roof overhead be well thatched
And those inside be well matched.
Love,
Rev. Frank
