OUR TIME TO SHINE IN 2009

It is wonderful to see our growth in Consciousness during the past few months. It culminated in a fantastic Christmas Party in the Sanctuary in December. We hopped out of 2008 with the Twelve Nights Of Christmas…..I'm still seeing Betty Grise and her group doing the Maids a Milkin' and the Prince family doing Three French Hens and, me, of course, doing Lords a Leapin' . A good time was had by all.

It is as it should be. A Consciousness of joy in a spiritual family that allows itself the freedom to be in individual self-expression. Together we have accomplished a lot since September 1. The new Foundations class completed by ten highly energized students, two new members, the re-organization of the CORE Council, monthly meetings with our wonderful practitioners…a new practitioner joined our ranks, and the changes in our Sunday service that add an ambience of reverence.

Financially, we still seem to be facing an uphill battle trying to stay out of the hole each month so the Stewardship Core is recommending to the CORE Council that La Verne go to half time and that volunteers do the housecleaning and yard work. We stopped the bulk mailing of The Mirror, and put it on line with the wonderful website being built by Karl at www.cslmenifee.org. Hopefully that will give us the $1000.00 we need to break even each month. If that doesn't do it I have offered to cut some of my time. I know we won't have to have these measures in place for very long but it seems prudent to take some action to keep our wonderful Center afloat. As I promised, I have not asked for money, or put out a pledge campaign or sent any letters. I am simply knowing that just as our classes that are offered on a love offering basis bring in more than requested, hearts will be inspired to increase their Sunday giving whenever they can and the blessing is already present. There will also be rent increases for the folks who use our church when we are not using it and that will give us some additional income.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you at our February Business Meeting when the formal reports will be given and it will be your time to ask whatever questions come to mind.
